I have a problem with the amount of money the photographer charges for school photos. I looked at the packages, and the cheapest one only offers 6 tiny photos (2 wallets & 4 little exchange 1" ones)for $7. I really wanted a 5 X 7 of each of my kids, but that bumps the price up to $18 per package. OK, maybe I'm a cheap scape, still living in 1990, but I refuse to pay up! It's time to take a stand against those punks that use our cute, innocent children to make a the big bucks (this is where I normally go off about school fundraisers, but I'll save it for another post.)
My solution, I'll just take my own photos. I have a nice enough camera, I can take the photos outdoors & pick my own background. Besides, I took photography in high school many moons ago so I'm a semi-pro amateur. I decided to start with my youngest child that is in school, my 2nd grader. This is the way our photo session went down..........

Way to go! I would love to hear the school fundraiser rant! -and add to it!
That is awsome! My pictures that we normally get went from $14 to $28...Let me guess - gas prices are up? How much oil does it take to produce a picture? I am so with you. Matilda has pictures tomorrow and I told her she would just be getting the school yearbook picture and we would do our own. You are so inspiring!
i stopped buying school pics because of that exact reason. what's the point when you can still go to wal-mart and gets tons of pics for less than $10?
