Stitches!

Baseball can be a rough sport. Big brother is helping him learn the basics, but spring training has it's dangers. Our youngest had to get 3 stitches under his eye. The kids were all playing baseball in our yard with a neighbor girl. The girl was at bat, and took a big swing into our little boy's face. He didn't know he was standing so close. The kids ran in the back door screaming and dragging in their little brother. His face was completely covered in blood. I was relived when I got it all cleaned up that it was just a deep wound. We got home from the emergency room at midnight that Saturday. He has had his stitches removed, the swelling is gone, and he is looking a lot better now. The neighbor girl that hit him with the bat brought over a present the next day and apologized. It was just an unfortunate accident. We haven't played baseball since the accident. We'll pick up the sport sometime on a weekday between the hours of 8am and 4pm, the local Dr's office hours, no more ER for us!

Homerun!

Our boy, in the red helmet, crosses home base for his first homerun. Unfortunately, they still lost the game. He really enjoys baseball!

Another Soccer Win!!!

Their team record is 2-0 now.

Been Caught Swearing!

He has been swearing, but this time he doesn't have to pay a quarter into the cussing jar or munch on a bar of soap. {If someone says a bad or curse word in our house they have to put money into the cussing jar as part of their punishment, the other part involves soap in the mouth.} He was officially sworn in on Friday and began his practice Saturday. Enjoy the photos!

A Pig and Some Kittens

This weekend the kids got the chance to feed Maple the pig. They also got to see the 1 day old kittens at their cousins house. Check out the farmer!

Goats & Soccer

Someone brought their little pet to the soccer game. The kids begged me to let them go and pet the "puppy." The strange looking puppy was actually a baby goat! Love the rural life!

Our Insightful Nature Girl

Our sweet little girl left quite an impression on the reading instructor at school. Our girl was supposed to be concentrating on a reading evaluation with the instructor, but she was distracted. She saw a mug of coffee on the instructor's desk. Our girl said, " Teacher , do you know what's in that stuff!?!" "Donkey Poo!!!" The older kids in the room were rolling with laughter. Our girl suggested that the teacher, "try hot chocolate - they have 2 flavors you know and it's better for you!" Apparently the discovery channel had a documentary on how coffee plants are fertilized by donkey manure.
This incident was after the teacher convinced her to throw away the rocks she has lined up on her desk that she had collected earlier from the playground. She placed some of the rocks in the trash can, but carefully stashed a few stow-aways in her mouth. Of course the instructor was on to her and explained the dangers of storing rocks in your mouth. This is our nature girl!

Cat Wrestling!

This amazing toddler can lift his own weight in CATS! And you thought weightlifting was boring. This toddler is training to be the worlds strongest man. He needs to perfect his power lift and keep the cats balanced. The cats also need a little training to remain still & calm. Wish him luck!

Our beautiful view!
