Caption Needed!!!!!!!!

My sis & her husband were visiting from LA so we decided to snap some pics of them with the kids. Our crazy dog loves to be photographed and kept running in front of the camera, then right as I snapped this photo he took a flying leap in the air. We are still laughing about it. If you read my blog, please take a moment to make a suggested caption for this photo. You can make it as an anonymous comment, I look forward to your ideas. Maybe I'll give the winner a prize. I hope you like dogs! (Just Kidding, I better keep this crazy pooch he may score us some bucks with his wild antics.)

Bikers and Rhinos

On our drive back from St.Louis we stopped at a truck stop for gas & a potty stop. We parked the slobber mobile (mini-van) in front of the building & ran the kids into the bathroom. There was a large stack of propane tanks (for gas BBQ grills) in front of us with a large red sign that read No Smoking. We are busy getting everyone buckled back in after the potty stop when we notice a tattooed, bearded man on a Harley pull up next to us and park. The man turns the motorcycle off, then while standing next to it proceeds to light a cigarette. Our 4 year old boy looks at the No Smoking sign, then at the smoking biker. He then says, "Hey dude, sign says NO SMOKING, why you be smoking there?" No Answer, biker man continues to smoke. Our 4 year old decides he needs to lay down the law and says, " Hey dude want to fight?!?" Then our boy pauses before saying.....,"No --- You're not big enough!" The biker was oblivious to the fact that he had just been challenged by our little law enforcer. At that moment I was grateful for our 4 year old's speech impediment! Luckily, his sibling "interpreters" kept quiet!

Yesterday we were driving down the highway when a deer ran in front of our car across the road. Our 4 year old said. "Wook ah dat Whino, he went indo da fowwest over der!" Translation: Look at that Rhino, he went into the forest over there! I have no idea why he called it a Rhino, it was a fairly small deer. We had a good laugh.

A fun family weekend!

We spent a fun weekend in St.Louis with our good friends and their 4 kids. We found a great hotel with an nice pool and a huge breakfast buffet. My husband was able to go to the temple with his friend Happiness and I was able to go with my friend Sunshine. Happiness & Sunshine are pictured below in the group photo.
The Science Center was a huge hit. We could have spent the whole day there. I was happy that it was free. Even with the $8 fee to park, it was still a great bargain to entertain all 5 kids for hours. Even the baby loved it! Our girl on the left is checking her heart rate. Our girl on the right is performing surgery.
Our baby girl has a handful of her daddy's hair and she's chewing on it. Notice dad's silly shirt. I had prohibited him from wearing this white trash, um, I mean "silly" shirt in public. I can't believe he snuck this one past me and had the nerve to laugh about it when I noticed it half way through the zoo. Glad we were out of town. What a stinker!

Great feats of engineering! Can they build it????

YES! They can!!!

Building is fun, but the best part was knocking it down!

Watching the penguin swim by at the zoo. They would swoosh by so fast in the aquarium.

Independence Day

I had a lot of fun trying out some new settings on my camera to get some good fireworks shots. Our town had a great display this year! The kids loved it and for the first time - NO crying!!!!!!!!!! Last year my husband viewed the display from inside a minivan full of sobbing kids. This year they were startled a few times and even dove for cover behind dad, but no trips to the van! I guess my kids are really growing up!

Chillin' at da pool!

Too cool for the pool! Well actually, the pool was too cool for her. At least she got to wear her adorable swimsuit.
Our safety boy. No chance you'll see this guy sink with a 1 life jacket and 2 swim rings.

Our friends invited the kids for a dip in their pool. The kids had a great time, I had to coerce them out with the promise of a popcicle.

These animals always stay still for the camera. Our little guy is still a Bama fan! Roll Tide! This elephant is the next best thing to "Big Al."

Puppy Love

What can I say???.......this kid has 3 sisters! Bless his heart:)

2nd Place Team!

He finished the season with a record of 9-5. His team won 2nd place in the tournament. It was a fun baseball season. We spent a lot of time on the road, but it was nice to chat with the other parents in the stands. They were all very supportive of the boys. The boys played well together and had a lot of fun. We were proud to see them beat their rival team after tying 9-9, then winning 15-9 in extra innings.

Slip Slidin' Away!

The kids had a brilliant idea! "Let's put the slip-n-slide at the bottom of our slide." It was some fast and slippery fun! It was funny to watch them come flying down the slide and across the lawn. A neighborhood boy came over to play too. The kids took baths afterward and I had to clean clumps of grass and dirt out of the tub. Why does fun always mean a big mess? Oh, well, I'm glad they're so creative. It sure beats vegging in front of the TV all summer.

A close call!~

Bath Time!

Squeaky Clean!

Bubble Bearded Boy!

This is what you can do with 1/2 bottle of shampoo! At least he smelled nice.

County Youth Fair

2 blue ribbons (1st place) and 6 red ribbons(2nd place)! Daisy won 2 red ribbons for her ceramic necklace medallion and her bedroom design poster. Oakley won 4 red ribbons for his birdhouse, derby car, gila monster drawing, and ceramic medallion. Rosie won 2 blue ribbons for her baked clay project "Animal Islands," and for the cherries we grew on our cherry tree. They were so pround. Next year Rosie wants to raise and enter rabbits in the fair. We'll see..........
Posing in front of the goats.

Sleeping & Eating

5 months old. She still sleeps in her car seat every night. I started putting her in her car seat at night when she was really congested when she was 2 months old. She slept through the night this way ever since. I don't know what I'll do when she out grows her car seat. Feel free to comment, any suggestions would be appreciated.
The crusty faced baby! She loves squishing her rice cereal in her fingers and rubbing it on her face.

Dad's Birthday!

Our oldest boy, Oakley, insisted that we buy this silly t-shirt for his Dad. I guess you can never have too many t-shirts! For Dad's birthday we had a treasure hunt with silly clues, mostly inspired by song titles. Of the 5 little gifts we gave him, the pudding snack packs were his favorite!

Our Girl Turns 7!!!!!!!!

Birthday fun with brother.
Blowing out the candles on the jungle cake. We think the monkey kind of looks like George Bush. We told the birthday girl that and she flipped out, "It's NOT George Bush, it's a monkey!" Ok, fun's over. The ears are just so, um...........pronounced!?!
A new bike!!!! Rosie got her new bike when she woke up on the morning of her birthday, hence, the bed-head. She would have loved to keep her hair like that all day because she hates to have her hair brushed. I finally convinced her to let me pull her hair into a ponytail to keep the syrup from her birthday waffles out of her hair. Her birthday lunch was chicken nuggets, followed by pizza for dinner. She said it was, "the BEST day ever!"
