The "Master" Bait Shop!

This posting is a tribute to a lost American icon. These signs were recently removed from the building. As a child, over 20 years ago, even before I understood my parents snickers, we drove by this bait shop regularly. Yes, this is the most tacky, redneck name anyone could possibly think of for a bait shop, but you can't find better hillbilly humor. The "Master Baiter" will be missed, but I will never have to explain it's meaning to my children, as I snicker, while we drive past! Thursday, September 18, 2008
Our Ears Will Never Be the Same!
This is the next Lance Armstrong?, NO!, Neil Armstrong,? NO!..........Louis Armstrong????(Yeah we think that's the jazz guys name.) I guess our boy could also try cycling, or become an astronaut.
Baby Fun!
A convienient way to transport socks.......... if only I could teach her to put them in the dirty clothes basket.

The Woe of the Toe!
Our brave little girl had to have surgery on both of her big toes for ingrown toenails. Her feet are orange from the iodine. She said,"Don't worry,it's just orange soap that stained my feet." She is back to school and feeling good today. She only missed one day of school.

Time to Vent!!!
I have a problem with the amount of money the photographer charges for school photos. I looked at the packages, and the cheapest one only offers 6 tiny photos (2 wallets & 4 little exchange 1" ones)for $7. I really wanted a 5 X 7 of each of my kids, but that bumps the price up to $18 per package. OK, maybe I'm a cheap scape, still living in 1990, but I refuse to pay up! It's time to take a stand against those punks that use our cute, innocent children to make a the big bucks (this is where I normally go off about school fundraisers, but I'll save it for another post.)
My solution, I'll just take my own photos. I have a nice enough camera, I can take the photos outdoors & pick my own background. Besides, I took photography in high school many moons ago so I'm a semi-pro amateur. I decided to start with my youngest child that is in school, my 2nd grader. This is the way our photo session went down..........

9 Years Old!
Our oldest girl is growing up so fast! For her 9th birthday party we had a some fun water games. We put the slip-n-slide at the bottom of the slide in the backyard and set up a sprinkler to spray on the slide. The kids also had a water balloon fight. It was a fun party!

Caption Needed!!!!!!!!
My sis & her husband were visiting from LA so we decided to snap some pics of them with the kids. Our crazy dog loves to be photographed and kept running in front of the camera, then right as I snapped this photo he took a flying leap in the air. We are still laughing about it. If you read my blog, please take a moment to make a suggested caption for this photo. You can make it as an anonymous comment, I look forward to your ideas. Maybe I'll give the winner a prize. I hope you like dogs! (Just Kidding, I better keep this crazy pooch he may score us some bucks with his wild antics.)

Bikers and Rhinos
Yesterday we were driving down the highway when a deer ran in front of our car across the road. Our 4 year old said. "Wook ah dat Whino, he went indo da fowwest over der!" Translation: Look at that Rhino, he went into the forest over there! I have no idea why he called it a Rhino, it was a fairly small deer. We had a good laugh.

A fun family weekend!
The Science Center was a huge hit. We could have spent the whole day there. I was happy that it was free. Even with the $8 fee to park, it was still a great bargain to entertain all 5 kids for hours. Even the baby loved it! Our girl on the left is checking her heart rate. Our girl on the right is performing surgery.
Our baby girl has a handful of her daddy's hair and she's chewing on it. Notice dad's silly shirt. I had prohibited him from wearing this white trash, um, I mean "silly" shirt in public. I can't believe he snuck this one past me and had the nerve to laugh about it when I noticed it half way through the zoo. Glad we were out of town. What a stinker!
