How Do We Stop 'em?

I keep getting comments from people I don't know, then when I open their comment it takes me to a website advertising something or tells me to download virus software. Everyday I have to delete 1 or 2 of these bogus comments. I adjusted my security settings and I am hoping for the best. Is there any way to shut these jerks down? Is anyone else dealing with this?
