What do you get when you ride your bike with 1 training wheel and no helmet???.....

I'm actually happy that this was all the damage that was done, bruises and scrapes on her face, elbow, shoulder, and knee. My darling girl took off on her bike to go to a friends house, down hill from us, without permission. She asked me a few minutes earlier to take off her remaining training wheel on her bike. One fell off on it's own, but the one left behind made it a real challenge to balance on the bike. I told her to wait until I was finished cooking dinner, then I would find the tool for the repair. She had a friend over and they took off across the yard pulling the wagon. I thought they were still giving each other wagon rides when I got the phone call....."Your daughter is over here bleeding & crying, she had a bike wreck." Her sister was with her so I said, she'll be fine, just push the bike home. "But, she's bleeding a lot!" So, I grabbed the baby & jumped in the van to go rescue her. She had not only left without permission, but also without her helmet. I was really worried that we would need to make a trip to the hospital that night. I looked her over... luckily, there was no need for stitches or a cast. She was in one piece. Thank goodness!!! Her punishment was, no more bike riding until all her wounds heal. She learned quite a lesson, that I hope she will never forget. I am glad it all turned out good, but now I am even more adamant about the helmet rule. Kids!!!!
